How Much Does A GMC Sonoma Catalytic Converter Cost?

So, my mechanic told me that I’m going to need a new catalytic converter for my GMC Sonoma. He quoted me a price of $500 just for the parts. Is that right? Seems a little steep. How much does one of those normally cost?

I’m sorry to hear that you’re having an issue with your catalytic converter! How much a replacement converter costs will depend on the quality of replacement parts you buy. Typically, a
GMC Sonoma
catalytic converter will cost between $300 and $750.
Of course, that’s just the price for the parts. If you want to have the mechanic install the catalytic converter, you have to pay your mechanic’s hourly rate. The entire process usually takes about an hour.
While you’re handling your
GMC’s
maintenance problems, it might be a good time to review your
