How much does a gallon of diesel weigh?

How much weight will a gallon of diesel add to a wagon? I need to haul some gas out to my dad’s barn for his old truck and I’m trying to decide if I should get a wagon for it or just carry it by hand.

A gallon of
diesel
will weigh different amounts at different temperatures. However, one gallon will typically weigh about seven pounds. If you’re hauling the diesel on a particularly warm day, it may weigh slightly less. Conversely, if you’re hauling the diesel on a particularly cold day, it could weigh a little over seven pounds.
You might also see a slight variation in weight if you live in an environment with nonstandard atmospheric pressure. Higher pressure will make a gallon of diesel weigh slightly more, while lower temperatures will make it weigh slightly less.
