How much does a custom license plate cost in Georgia?

I’m on a tight budget, but I’ve been wanting a custom license plate for a while now. If I can find one for a reasonable cost, I’d love to buy it! Exactly how much should a custom license plate cost in Georgia?

Personalizing your car on a tight budget can be tricky, but try not to worry. A custom license plate in
Georgia
only costs $55 upfront, which includes a $35 one-time manufacturing fee and a $20 plate fee. But you’ll also need to pay an additional $35 special tag fee every year.
So even though the custom plate doesn’t cost too much, you’ll end up paying slightly more in the long run. Of course, you’ll also be responsible for paying your regular annual registration fees, so the extra $35 may not make a huge difference as a whole.
Unfortunately, Georgia doesn’t have an online option for purchasing a custom plate. If you want to apply for a vanity plate, you’ll need to go to a special tag office in person and make the required payments.
