How much do electric cars save per mile over gas cars?

I’ve heard that EVs cost significantly less per mile on average. I’m just curious how much do electric cars actually save over gas per mile?

Great question, it’s difficult to break it down by mile. But it’s safe to say electric cars are a great fuel savings option as in most cases fuel rates are much lower than the cost of gasoline (especially with the current prices). Electric cars can save about $800 to $1,000 on average a year in refueling costs.
Unless you live in a region where the cost of gasoline and electricity is about the same, you will more than likely be saving on fuel costs in an EV. At the current gas rates of almost $7 per gallon in some regions, electricity rates average at about $0.12 per kWh.
From home on a slower charger, the total cost may be about $6 for a full charge. At a public charging station which costs more for a quicker charge, the cost may be anywhere from $10 to $30 depending on how much charge is needed.
