How much do electric cars cost per mile on average?
I’m comparing the efficiency of some EVs vs gas-powered vehicles. While you may save more to refuel, I’m wondering if EVs are more fuel-efficient. How much do electric cars cost per mile?

Great question, this is one of the ones we see often. On average, electric cars cost about $0.05 per mile to drive.
Eco Cost Savings reports that the cost per mile for electric cars ranges between $0.03 to $0.11 with the lowest being the 2021 Tesla Model 3. While these prices are already fairly low, there are some ways you can reduce fuel costs even more. Some states and regions offer incentive programs that lower the cost of electricity if you avoid peak hours and charge your vehicle at night.
