Congratulations on the new job! The average Uber driver salary in Connecticut as of late 2022 is around $40,000 with an average range of $30,000 to $50,000.

Your salary will be based on trip fares, which will vary depending on the time and distance of the requested trip, as well as tips. While Uber takes a cut from every trip fare, you get to keep 100% of your own tips. Ways to increase your tips include

Keep your car as clean as possible
Be friendly and make good conversation (if the passenger seems up for it)
Be ready to offer recommendations for places around the city
Offer amenities like gum, mints, and even an aux cord for passengers to play their own music

Don’t forget to factor in the costs of being a rideshare driver, like gas and wear and tear on your vehicle. You might also have to pay self-employment taxes on your earnings since Uber drivers are independent contractors of the company.
