Why is the Toyota 2000GT so expensive? I think they look super cool but according to Google they’re over $1,000,000! Is this car rare? How many were made?

There were a total of 315

made and only 150 of those were shipped outside of Japan. This makes the Toyota 2000GTs one of the rarest and most valuable Toyota vehicles out there.On average, the Toyota 2000GT is now worth about $1,004,835. Compare that to the vehicle’s starting price of $7,000 when it was released in 1967 (which is the equivalent of $60,000 today)—what an increase!
Not only is this vehicle rare and pricey, but it’s also one of Toyota’s first sports cars. While the Sports 800 did beat the 2000GT to the punch as far as Toyota’s debut on the sports car market, this vehicle still marks one of Toyota’s earliest attempts at crafting a vehicle meant for speed.
