How many round-door Rolls-Royce were made?

I saw a photo of a Rolls-Royce with round doors when I was going through some promotional photos for an upcoming car exhibit. I’ve never seen a Rolls like that before—is it for real? How many of them were made?

The round-door Rolls-Royce is definitely for real—and it may be the rarest Rolls-Royce out there! Not only was it a singular masterpiece, but it was also retrofitted by Jonckheere in the 1930s, making it the only model of its kind.
The retrofit took a 1925 Phantom I and reimagined the body, expanded the tailfin and grille, and installed the curious round doors. The gorgeous red interior is another showstopper.
Detroit resident Mrs. Hugh Dillman was the first registered owner, but this one-of-a-kind art piece is currently featured as part of the Margie and Robert E. Petersen Collection. You can see it at the Petersen auto museum—once you pay the entry fee, of course!
If you’re interested in rare Rolls-Royce models, you may also be interested in these unique collector’s items:
  • Sweptail
  • Phantom Hyperion by Pininfarina
  • 10 HP
  • Silver Dawn Park Ward Drophead Coupe
  • Wraith by West Coast Customs
  • Phantom State Limousine
  • Phantom “Blue Magpie”
  • 15 HP
  • Boat Tail
Collectors’ Rolls-Royces are worth millions, so you won’t be seeing them on the road very often! Many of the models listed are one-of-a-kind custom builds, so you’ll have to look up if they’re traveling through with a car show if you want to see one up close!
