Rolls Royce began producing its flagship Phantom model nearly 100 years ago in 1925—and in its first iteration, which lasted until 1931, the company manufactured just 3,500 units. But the Phantom would last for generations—all the way up until the present day. Here’s a breakdown of how many units were made in the Phantom’s following years:
  • Phantom II (1929-1936): 1,680 units manufactured
  • Phantom III (1936-1939): 727 units manufactured
Between 1940 and 1950, Rolls Royce halted production of Phantoms in the wake of World War II. In the post-war era, Phantom production continued:
  • Phantom IV (1950-1956): 18 units manufactured
  • Phantom V (1959-1968): 516 units manufactured
  • Phantom VI (1968-1990) 374 units manufactured
Following the Phantom IV model, Rolls Royce halted production for nearly thirteen years, before the Phantom VII debuted in 2003. Between 2003 and 2016, just 35 units were produced for the seventh-generation Phantom. In 2018, the Phantom VIII was released and continues to be manufactured today.
