How many people die in car accidents in Florida?

How many people die from car accidents in Florida every day? I heard that fewer people got into car accidents during the pandemic and I’m curious to know if that made Florida a safer place to drive.

Answer
Statistically, 8.7 people die in car accidents each day in Florida. Florida is generally considered to be one of the most dangerous states to drive in along with Texas and California. Each of these states is highly populated and has a high number of drunk driving fatalities, both of which contribute to their high car accident death rate.
While it’s true that the total number of car accidents in Florida decreased starting in March and April of 2020, the number of fatalities actually increased from 2019 to 2020. In total, there were 336,062 reported crashes and 3,332 resulting fatalities within the state in 2020. In 2019, by contrast, there were 401,867 reported crashes and 3,185 fatalities. If you’re driving on a crowded highway, make sure to take steps to keep yourself safe!
