How many parts are there in a gas car vs. an electric car?

I want to save money on fuel by driving an electric car, but I’m wondering how the mechanics compare to that of a gas-powered car. Do electric cars have more parts, and if so, how many are there compared to a gas-powered car?

This may be surprising because they’re much newer technology, but
electric cars
tend to actually be much less mechanically complex than gas-powered cars and have fewer parts overall.
While gasoline-powered vehicles typically use about 30,000 components, EVs require about half of that.
The reason why is that electric motors have a more simplified power system that has fewer parts overall than a combustion engine. That’s why many electric car owners report saving money on
repairs
compared to their gas-powered counterparts, because there are just fewer moving parts to maintain over time.
