How many Mitsubishi Eclipses were made?

I recently purchased a 2017 Eclipse Cross, and my friend commented how rare it was to get a Mitsubishi Eclipse of any kind. I know they were discontinued a while back, but how many Eclipses were made in their prime?

Mitsubishi Eclipses
reached their fourth and final generation in 2005. A total of 906,876 units were manufactured since their debut in 1990.
Introduced as a sports coupe with robust engines and an all-wheel-drive system, the Mitsubishi Eclipse was produced only for the US and Canadian markets. Each trim level—the GS, GT, and GTS—had standard alloy wheels, cruise control, and a rear spoiler.
If customers sprung for the GTS trim, they enjoyed a sunroof and leather upholstery for a more luxurious interior. The two-door four-seater gained notoriety in The Fast and the Furious as Paul Walker’s punchy ride.
Although the Eclipse was discontinued as a motion to produce more eco-friendly vehicles, Mitsubishi called back to the Eclipse in 2017 with your new-to-you ride: the
