The Lotus Esprit has made a place for itself in global supercar history. Manufactured from 1976 to 2004, a total of 10,675 Lotus Esprits were made with over 24 variations throughout its 28-year production span.
The two main styles of Lotus Esprit were Giugiario’s style and Steven’s style with the following total production numbers:
  • Giugario’s Esprit: 5,829 units
  • Steven’s Esprit: 4,846 units
The main difference between these two styles is the finishing touches of their designers. Giorgetto Giugiario was the original designer of the Esprit and favored sharp angles in a wedge shape. Peter Stevens took over the Esprit’s design in 1988 and softened many of the supercar’s edges for a sleeker, more modern appearance.
Every Lotus Esprit was handmade for the UK market, so it would be fairly difficult to get one on American soil. You could always

from a domestic seller, but make sure you consider all of the costs like storage, maintenance, and—most importantly—
car insurance
