The Lotus Carlton would be an impressive addition to any rare car collection—especially if you’re based in the United States! Only 320 Lotus Carltons were made in the early 1990s, but they were never produced for the American car market.
The Lotus Carlton was a modified saloon-style car with sports performance capability produced in the United Kingdom from 1990 to 1992. It was manufactured in tandem with the Lotus Omega, which only saw 630 units produced. Lotus had originally planned a limited production run of 1,100 units total for these two models, but poor sales halted production early.
While they weren’t originally sold in the US, these models became exempt from NHTSA import restrictions in 2017, so you technically could get a Lotus Carlton on American soil. Just keep in mind that these exceptionally rare cars are going to garner fairly expensive prices.
