How many hours of driving are required before you can get a license in GA?
My son has his Georgia learner’s permit and has been driving a fair bit. He’s hoping to get his full license within the next few months, but he isn’t sure about the driving experience requirements. How many hours does he need to complete in-car before he can apply for a license in Georgia?

It’s great that he’s practicing and well on his way to getting his full license! If he is under 18, he will need to apply for a provisional license and complete 40 hours of driving practice before he can get his license in

. Of those 40 hours of supervised driving practice, at least 6 hours must be at night.On top of the required hours, he must complete the legally required Alcohol and Drug Awareness Awareness Program (ADAP/eADAP) and obtain a certificate of completion.
Drivers over the age of 18 are not required to apply for a provisional license. If you’re over 18 years old, you may be eligible to apply for a full driver’s license.
