How many Honda CRXs were made?

My first car in high school was a Honda CRX. It wasn’t pretty, but it got the job done. Call it my midlife crisis or something, but I’m thinking about buying one if I can find one. How many CRXs did Honda make?

The Honda CRX is certainly a classic and affordable way to stave off your midlife crisis! Unfortunately,
Honda
 didn’t release any figures on how many CRXs were made during the car’s first-generation production run from 1984 to 1987. However, the second-generation CRX—produced from 1988 to 1991—numbered 171,393.
Based on these figures, you could make a reasonable estimate that Honda made about 340,000 to 350,000 CRX models between 1984 and 1991.
If you want to get your hands on one, you won’t have to break the bank—or at least compared to a newer car. While many CRXs ended up in junkyards due to rust issues, ones that have been meticulously maintained can often be purchased for between $3,000 and $10,000 depending on the model year, mileage, and condition.
