How many feet can you park from a stop sign?

I live in a neighborhood where parking is at a premium and I don’t have a garage or parking pad. Most of the time, I can find a space that’s somewhat close to a stop sign. But how many feet can I park from a stop sign without getting a ticket?

In a rare case of all states having the same law, you must park at least 30 feet from a stop sign. The same goes for yield signs and traffic signals.
While parking near a stop sign in a residential area may seem innocuous, doing so blocks other drivers from seeing the stop sign. Because of the dangers of blocking a stop sign, most cities will enforce this law. You may need a bit more time to find a parking lot, but it definitely beats paying a fine.
If you live in a larger city, consider a paid parking spot or a parking garage. While this is more expensive, you always know that you have a designated parking spot.
If you can find a parking spot away from the stop sign, you can avoid paying a fine. But if you want to double up on your savings, remember to use
