How many extensions can you get on a car loan?
"I lost my job and have had some unexpected expenses. I already asked the lender for three extensions on my car loan payment, which they granted.
How many extensions can I ask for before they deny my request?"
“If you have a lender that’s already granted an extension three times, don’t take advantage.
The fact that they’ve granted these extensions shows that they value their relationship with you, and they bend over backward to keep the relationship going.
Instead of asking for another extension, call them and tell them about your situation. At the very least, you should give them something in terms of payment.
Few lenders want to repossess a car because they usually end up taking a loss on the loan if you don’t pay the balance after they sell the vehicle. That said, be honest and upfront, and hopefully they’ll work with you.”

Who has a right to extra payments that an auto insurance company makes?
My sister's vehicle was totaled. She owes $14,000 on her loan and her vehicle is worth $12,700. She put in a claim for gap insurance and they said she had negative gap due to refunds that the dealership owes ($2,000). Is she entitled to the extra $700? Shouldn't it go to my sister instead of the bank?

Does gap insurance still apply if I don't have full coverage on my financed vehicle?
I got into an at-fault accident and didn't have full coverage on my financed vehicle. The dealership says I won't be able to use my gap coverage because I didn't have the right amount of insurance. If I still owe more money on my loan after the claim is paid out, would my gap insurance apply?
