Great question! It may come as a disappointment, but ever since it was first introduced by Toyota in 2005, the
Scion tC
has only ever used various sizes of four-cylinder engines—you won’t find a V6 under the hood of any tC, regardless of the model year.
Of course, that doesn’t mean the tC lacks power—in fact, the models that use a 2.5L four-cylinder are capable of generating an admirable 180 hp @ 6,000 rpm and 173 lb-ft of torque, numbers that are pretty high for a simple compact car.
If you’re looking for something similar to a Scion tC that can be outfitted with a V6 engine, we’d recommend checking out the
Ford Mustang
,
Kia Stinger
, or
Acura TLX
.
