I’m thinking of buying a new Honda CR-V, but I’ve heard critics say the engine is kind of gutless. How many cylinders are in a Honda CR-V?

The Honda CR-V may not have a huge engine, but it’s certainly not gutless. The 2023 model comes standard with an inline-four-cylinder turbo that makes 190 horsepower. There’s also a four-cylinder hybrid option that’s capable of 203 horsepower.
Reviewers have indeed noted the CR-V’s somewhat sluggish acceleration, but keep in mind it’s a compact crossover SUV. It doesn’t need six cylinders to perform. And even with the base turbo-four engine, the CR-V still gets a respectable 0-60 mph time of 7.9 seconds.
If you decide the Honda CR-V has enough cylinders for you, you’ll need to get it insured right away. And the best way to save on your CR-V car insurance costs is by using the Jerry app!
