How many cars are there in Vermont?

This past year, I spent a lot of time on Lake Champlain while doing some seasonal work in Burlington. I’m seriously considering a move there, especially because I made quite a few friends. The only thing that worries me is traffic. Despite its small size, I feel like Vermont has cars and tourists everywhere. How many cars are in Vermont?

Outdoorsmen, hippies, retirees, dreamers—they all seem to move to
Vermont
at some point. But it makes for an interesting and unique vibe.
According to the 2020 U.S. Census Bureau, 608,000 cars are registered in Vermont. This represents a 7.2% decrease in vehicle registrations from 2015 to 2020, so the state has far fewer cars than it did just half a decade ago. Vermont is also one of only 12 states that experienced a decrease in vehicle registrations over the same time frame.
However, the state still has a high rate of car ownership with 97 cars per 100 residents.
If you’re considering a move to Vermont, save up for expenses by shopping around for car insurance on the
