How many cars are there in Indiana?

I’m going to Indiana University for college and my dad said I won’t need my car, but it seems like the kind of area where having a car would be a good idea. How many cars are there in Indiana? Should I bring mine?

As of the 2020 census, there are 2,123,748 cars in the state of
Indiana
. This means that Indiana has a pretty average number of cars compared to other states in the U.S.
However, that doesn’t necessarily mean that you should or shouldn’t bring your car to college with you! There are a few different factors to consider:
  • There is a good public transportation system in Bloomington, Indiana.
  • If you live close to campus, you’ll be able to walk. But if you live far away, having a car can be useful.
  • Parking on campus can be expensive.
  • If you want to travel home, having a car can be helpful.
  • It’s much easier to get groceries, move furniture, and get to work when you have a vehicle.
If you do decide to bring your car with you, you’ll need to update your
car insurance
policy to reflect your new address. To make sure you get the best rates, use the
