How many BMW M5 CS models were made?
I’ve always been a big BMW fan, and the M5 is one of my favorites. I’ve been considering getting one, and I think it’d be cool to get an M5 CS. How many of those did they make?

You’re right—getting a BMW M5 CS would be very cool. However, it might prove equally difficult to do! This super powerful addition to the M series was limited to just one production year, so only about 1,000 models of the 2022
BMW M5
CS were made. That level of exclusivity instantly turned the M5 CS into a desirable collectible for gearheads everywhere. What makes the M5 CS so special? The “CS” stands for “Competition Sport,” meaning this Bimmer is the racing version of the sports sedan—and it may be one of the mightiest from the brand made for the open road. It comes equipped with a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8, a ZF eight-speed automatic transmission, and an xDrive all-wheel drive system. All of that adds up to a whopping 627 horsepower and 553 lb-ft of torque, getting the M5 CS from zero to 60 mph in a mere 2.6 seconds with a top speed of 190 mph.
For the CS edition of the M5, BMW removed and replaced heavier pieces of the car—like the hood, sound-deadening material, and front bucket seats—to make it more lightweight and speedier. That doesn’t mean many sacrifices, though, as the special edition M5 is just as refined as the standard version.
With such a low number of units produced, it’s slim pickings if you’re looking to buy one yourself. While the M5 CS had an original MSRP of around $142,000, you’ll be paying somewhere between $147,500 to $189,995 for a used model.
