I had the rare opportunity to see an Acura TLX Type S drive by me when I was on the road the other day. I’ve always wanted to buy one of these beauties, but I always thought they were way too expensive. How many of these models did Acura make?

It’s exciting to see rare sports cars out in the wild! Acura developed the TLX Type S as a concept car in 2019 but finally started production on the vehicle in 2021—in 2021 and 2022, Acura produced around 2,000 TLX Type S models, but all of them were based on demand and buyers had to specifically order them. For the 2023 model year, Acura expects these numbers to remain constant, despite a $52,000 price tag that’s around $12,000 more than the base model.
