How many 1965 Mercury Comet Calientes were made?

I’m a classic car connoisseur, and I just learned about a specific Mercury model from the 60s. It sounds perfect for my collection if I can find one. How many 1965 Mercury Comet Caliente were made?

Sounds like you’ve got an eye for rare cars—and good taste for them too if you’re eyeing this Mercury! That said, you may have a hard time getting your hands on one. Only 6,035 Mercury Comet Caliente units were made for the 1965 model year.
The Caliente was the Comet’s top-tier trim and, specifically for 1965, a limited edition convertible. Key design features include plush interior carpeting and chrome exterior body moldings. It had the same V8 engine as the 1964 Mustang.
The 1965 Mercury Comet Caliente isn’t nearly as limited as the ‘65 Comet Cyclone—a high-performance model of which just 50 units were made. No matter what 1965 Mercury Comet you get your hands on, you’re going to want to protect it with a solid classic car insurance policy. This will protect your classic car for limited excursions and doesn’t include all the same inclusions as a full car insurance policy.
