How many 1957 Ford Rancheros were made?
I’ve finally got enough money set aside to begin the restoration project of my dreams—a 1957 Ford Ranchero. I know they’re fairly rare, but how many of these cars were actually made?

Congratulations on beginning your dream restoration! Ford manufactured 21,705 Ford Rancheros in 1957. This means it’s a comparably easy model year to find, but only comparably—you noted yourself that it’s still a rare vehicle.
Since you’re looking at starting a classic car restoration project, you should be able to find a model for a couple of thousand dollars to get started on. Of course, this is assuming you’re looking at starting pretty much from scratch. A driveable Ranchero will likely set you back at least $15,000—and that just means it’s driveable, not that it looks great.
Solidly restored 1957 Rancheros are currently listed for sale on ClassicCars.com for between $30,000 and $40,000, and Hagerty lists the highest sales price for a near-mint Ranchero as $132,000.
