How long will it take my car insurance to fix my car?

I was in an accident about a few weeks ago. No one was hurt, thankfully, and my insurance is covering the damage to my car. I've submitted a quote to them and I'm waiting to hear back; I do need my car to get to school and work, and I'm a little worried about how long it's taking. About how long should it take?

“I’m so sorry to hear about the accident—that’s always so stressful! To determine how long it will take your
car insurance company
to repair your vehicle, you’ll want to speak with your car insurance company.
When you get into an accident, your car insurance company has to review all the accident details. This typically means a claims adjuster is assigned to your claim. A claim adjuster will look at the damage and the estimated cost of repairs. They have to also consider the actual cash value (ACV) of your vehicle, and if the repairs will cost more or less than the ACV.
After considering these factors, your insurance will either approve or deny the claim. This process can be time-consuming, but once your claim is approved, it should be paid out in 30 days or less.
To stay updated with the process, you can reach out to the claims department. The claims department can give you an updated time frame for repairs and any additional information about your claim.
However, if you don’t feel supported by your insurance company, you can always try shopping around for a new provider. The easiest way to do this is through
Jerry
—we’ll get you multiple quotes from different providers so that all you have to do is choose the one that works best for you! And once you’ve chosen, we’ll even help you switch over.
Best of luck with getting your claim approved—hopefully you’ll be back out on the road soon.”
