How long is the warranty on a new BMW?
I’m 98% sure I will purchase a 2022 BMW 3 Series, but the one thing I haven’t checked out is the warranty—how long is the BMW warranty?

Congratulations—buying a new car is a big (and really exciting) purchase! The warranty on a new BMW lasts four years or 50,000 miles, whichever comes first. The New BMW Warranty protects against materials or workmanship defects for all parts of your BMW.
The New Vehicle Warranty also includes:
- Rust Perforation Warranty: 12 years/unlimited miles
- Federal Emission Warranty: 2 years/24,000 miles
On top of that, new BMW owners will also receive BMW Ultimate Care, which covers all regularly scheduled maintenance for up to three years or 36,000 miles.
If you’re considering extra coverage, BMW also offers three extended warranties providing coverage for 7 years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first:
- Platinum Protection: Comprehensive coverage for most major vehicle components and limited coverage for select interior and exterior parts
- Gold Protection: Comprehensive coverage for most core components and limited coverage for select parts of the electric systems, interior, and exterior
- Powertrain Plus: Comprehensive coverage for the transfer case and induction system and limited coverage for other vehicle components
