How long does reckless driving stay on your record in California?

I got a reckless driving charge about a month ago just outside of Oakland. While I’m aware that I’ll receive points on my license, I’m not sure how long the charge stays on my record. How long does a reckless driving charge stay on my record if I live in California?

Reckless driving stays on your record in
California
for three to 10 years.
Getting
points on your license
can have a huge impact on your driving record, driving privileges, and car insurance for years to come.
  • Dry reckless driving charge: This type of charge means you weren’t intoxicated. This will fall off your record in three years.
  • Wet reckless driving charge: This type of charge is associated with a DUI or operating a vehicle under the influence of drugs. The charge will stay on your record for 10 years.
