How long does it take to start Uber Eats driving?
My work-from-home job is refusing to give me the compensation package I need to survive, so I’m thinking of jumping ship and doing Uber Eats between jobs. I don’t want to have a gap in my income, though. How long does approval take?

It can take up to 10 business days to start Uber Eats driving, but most new Uber Eats drivers report getting approval within two to five days.
What to expect: The time to get approved for Uber Eats driving can vary because they need to screen and run background checks on all drivers. Here’s what you’ll need to provide when you apply:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Birthdate
- Vehicle information
- Driver’s license information
What to do: You can sign up by providing all of the information above on the Uber website. Current Uber drivers can get approved for Uber Eats driving faster by signing up through the Uber app:
- Open the Uber app
- Go to “Accounts”
- Go to “Work Hub”
- Select “Deliver for Uber Eats”
