How long does it take to get home insurance?
I’m closing on my house soon and my lender is requiring I present proof of insurance. By soon I mean we’re closing in two weeks. I know I’ve waited last minute to look for home insurance, but buying a house is such a stressful process and it slipped my mind. How long does it take to get home insurance?

Buying a home is one of the top five most stressful things a person can do in their life, but it’s well worth it! It can take anywhere from a couple of minutes to a couple of days to get your

policy set up. If that seems like a wide timeframe, that’s because it is. Each company operates differently. Some companies can do almost instantaneous policies. Some companies may require a home inspection, prolonging the start of your policy. Older homes will likely require a home inspection.
