How long does it take to get approved for Zipcar?
I want to rent a car next week. If I join now, will that give me enough time to get approved in time for my trip?

“The process of approval for Zipcar is typically very fast. When signing up for a membership, Zipcar requires:
- A photo of yourself
- A photo of your driver’s license
- An online account
Verifying your license and identity online usually takes only a few minutes. In some cases, it may take up to several days. If that happens, Zipcar will let you know if they require any additional documentation.
Once you pay the $25 one-time fee and obtain approval, you can start booking and driving cars. That said, you’ll need to use the Zipcar app to unlock the vehicles. If you don’t want to use the app, you’ll have to wait five to seven days for your Zipcard to ship.
Don’t forget that Zipcar requires you to choose one of their insurance plans. They have multiple options, but you can rest assured that their insurance always meets the
state minimum requirements
