How long does it take to get a renters insurance check?
I filed a claim with my renters insurance company a month ago and have not received anything. I want to get everything fixed; how long does it usually take to get a renters insurance check?

renters insurance
company. The time it takes to receive your insurance payout will depend on state law and where you live. Some state laws say insurance carriers have 10-30 days to verify your claim and 40 days to either accept or reject it. Other states only require insurers to send your payout in a reasonable time.
Here is what you can do to hopefully expedite the claims process:
- Keep inventory of your home, including pictures and receipts when possible.
- File your claim as soon as possible, complete with up-to-date contact information.
- Know your rights under your renters insurance policy, and learn about your state’s laws.
- Keep record of the loss with pictures, recordings, etc.
- Get in touch with your state’s insurance department to report any complaints or concerns.
