How long does it take Lyft take to approve car insurance?

A side hustle is a fantastic way to bring in extra income! According to Lyft, the rideshare company should approve your insurance within 24 hours if everything checks out.
Before Lyft can approve your driver profile, they will need a copy of your current driver’s license, license plate, and valid insurance. To get the ball rolling, here’s how to upload your insurance:
- Open the main menu in the Lyft Driver app
- Select “Vehicle and Devices”
- Select “Your Vehicles”
- Upload an image of your current valid insurance for approval
After your insurance has been reviewed and approved, the next step should be to add on
rideshare coverage
to your current car insurance
policy. While rideshare companies like Lyft and Uber provide some coverage to their drivers, they don’t offer full coverage. It’s a good idea to carry rideshare insurance for extra protection when you’re on the job—especially when it costs as little as $10 a month.
