How long does it take for insurance to repair a car?
My son got into an accident recently and his car needs some repairs. He's driving my car for now, but we can't do that forever! How long will it take for insurance to repair his car so I can get mine back?

“Oh, no—we hope no one was hurt in the accident! How long it will take to repair your car depends on the garage you choose, your insurance provider, and the damage.
If your son’s claim is pretty small or basic (a glass replacement claim, for example), it will only take a week or two for his car to be back in commission.
If an insurance adjuster needs to take a look at his car, that could slow down the process a bit, as you’ll have to wait for a couple of days for an appointment.
Using an auto body shop that is approved by or affiliated with your insurance will make the process go faster. Sometimes you’ll get a discount, too.
