How long does a hybrid battery last in a Lexus?

I’m a long-time Lexus fan, but I’ve never had enough money to buy one. While thinking about getting a gas-powered vehicle, I’ve changed my mind—I want a hybrid now that gas is so expensive. But how long do Lexus hybrid batteries last? I heard they’re pricey.

A hybrid battery in a Lexus should last at least 10 years or 150,000 miles, whichever comes first. This is the length of the battery’s warranty.
If you weren’t aware, Toyota owns the Lexus brand, so Lexus batteries are the same as those you’d find in other Toyota hybrids, such as the
Prius
.
In reality, the lifespan of a Lexus battery will depend on several factors, including:
  • How often you drive the vehicle, where you drive it, and how far you drive it each time
  • The weather where you live, as temperature fluctuations can affect the battery
  • How often you recharge the battery
Since most Lexus hybrids don’t have charging ports, recharge the battery by turning the car on at least every two weeks and letting it run for 20 minutes. In addition, keep on top of
routine maintenance
. You can find a suggested schedule in your owner’s manual.
