How long does a car battery last in Illinois?

I took a new job in Illinois, and I’m fairly excited about it! However, I have the overwhelming urge to organize everything—especially my budget. Since I’m going to have a car, I want to put together a car ownership budget. But how long should I expect a car battery to last in the state?

Illinois
has some major changes in climate and temperature from north to south that can impact the life of a
car battery
. In general, a car battery will last between three and five years in the Land of Lincoln.

If that’s not possible, try to park in the shade in the summer and keep your car engine compartment clean in the winter.
