How long do you have to wait before driving after a hysterectomy?

Do I need to stop driving for long after a hysterectomy? I drive for my job, and I have the surgery scheduled for next month, so I’m just wondering how long I’ll have to wait before going back to work.

A hysterectomy is a very serious surgery, and you should follow your doctor’s advice as to how long you must wait before driving. On average, it is recommended to wait three to four weeks before driving. Still, depending on the situation, it may be as long as six weeks.
Aside from your body needing time to heal, this type of surgery usually requires strong pain management. It isn’t safe to be on the road while on pain medicine, and you can get a
DUI
from driving on prescription medication.
Surgeries can be really expensive, especially if you have to take time off work to recover. To offset part of the cost, check out the
