How long do you have to transfer your car insurance?

My sister just bought a 2020 Jeep Wrangler. She hasn't transferred her car insurance to it yet. How long does she have to do so?

In most situations, you have 14 to 30 days to
transfer insurance to your new car
.
The length of time varies depending on who your sister has insurance with, but most companies automatically extend coverage.
While the vehicle likely has coverage right now, she must transfer her insurance over as soon as possible.
If she is financing her car, she may need full coverage on it. If her current policy doesn’t have it, she is at risk. If she gets into an accident that damages her vehicle, she may not have coverage.
She can easily add her vehicle to her insurance by calling her provider or adding it online. This will allow her to customize the coverage on it as well. Her insurance will then provide her with an updated premium.
