How long do tires last in storage?

This tire shop near me was having a big clearance sale on tires. My car’s current ones are fine, but I figured I’d save myself money for when they do need to be replaced. Long story short, I have a set of tires that I won’t end up needing for a while. How long do tires last in storage?

So, what does it mean to store tires properly? Tires should be stored in a cool, dry place away from heat and freezing temperatures to maximize shelf life.
