How long do I have to wait for insurance to repair my car?

I was in an accident about two weeks ago, and was found to be not at fault. My car needs to be repaired, but the claim still isn't settled. I need my car for everyday use—so how long will it take?

“I’m really sorry to hear about your accident! The timeline for your car’s repair will depend on the other driver’s
car insurance company
—since you were determined to be not at fault, they should be covering the repairs and damage to your vehicle.
However, it can take time for the repairs to be approved. When you submit a claim to an insurance company, they typically assign a claim adjuster. Both you and the other driver’s insurance will have a claim adjuster. They will also contact each other to determine fault and how damages will be paid out.
In most cases, a claim will be paid out within 30 days. However, if any issues are surrounding the claim or the cost of repairs, the payout or repairs could be delayed. If you’re having issues with the other insurance company, you can try to reach out to your own insurance company for help!
If you need a vehicle while waiting for the claim or repairs, you can see if you have
rental car reimbursement
coverage. If not, you can also check with the other driver’s car insurance company to see if they will cover a rental car for you.
If you’re unsatisfied with your current provider, however, it’s always okay to shop around for new providers. One of the easiest ways to do this is with
Jerry
—we’ll get you multiple quotes from different providers so that all you need to do is choose the plan that works best for you! And once you choose, we’ll even help you switch over.
Best of luck with getting your car repaired—hopefully the process speeds up soon!”
