You should report your
car insurance
claim as soon as possible. While there may be justification for small delays, if you delay your report for a long period of time, you could be denied coverage because the insurance company was not able to investigate the claim right away.The best plan of action is to file a police report and then call your insurance provider immediately. If you do not want a claim payout for the accident, you can report the claim as “record only.”
