How long do electric car batteries last?

I’m really interested in getting an electric car, but I have more knowledge about gas cars than electric ones. I was wondering about how long electric car batteries last?

  • This depends on the car of course, but on average most electric car batteries last between 10-20 years before they need to be replaced.
  • Many cars sold in the U.S. come with a warranty covering how long the battery life should last. The warranties usually cover a certain number of years or miles that can be driven.
