My kid is about to go to college and they're still on my car insurance. How long can they stay on my insurance, legally speaking?

Legally, your child can stay on your insurance for as long as you want—just so long as they’re living at home.
While other types of insurance require your child to get their own policy at a specified age, auto insurance is more flexible. Since car insurance is always more expensive for people under 25, it will likely be cost-effective for them to stay on your policy until they turn at least 25.
