How long after a windshield replacement can I perform a car wash?

How long do I have to wait after a windshield replacement to wash my car? I live on a dirt road that doesn’t get plowed often. After my windshield was replaced, I drove home and now my windshield is dirty.

It must be frustrating trying to keep your car clean when you live on a dirt road in the winter! The time you need to wait after a
windshield
replacement will depend on how you’ll be washing your car.
If you wash your car manually, there is no time restriction. You can wash your car immediately! However, it is best to avoid using direct water pressure, like a hose, when you rinse the soap from the windshield. If you use a hose, make sure to use low pressure on the windshield.
If you want to go to an automatic car wash, you’ll need to wait 24 hours. Since it takes time for the sealant to cure, the direct water pressure from the car wash can damage it. It also can put unnecessary stress on your new windshield.
Driving on dirt roads can be difficult, especially in the winter, so consider getting a roadside assistance membership with
Jerry
. Along with traditional benefits, you get Uber-like tracking for the status of your service and the ability to contact your service provider directly for as low as $4.16 a month.
