How far is it to drive from Los Angeles to San Francisco?

My boyfriend is working in San Francisco and I’m Los Angeles-based. I’m planning on driving up for the weekend to visit and I would like to know how far of a drive it is from LA to San Francisco?

Sounds like you’re about to have a lovely weekend! If you drive from
Los Angeles
to San Francisco, you’ll travel a total of 381 miles.
The one-way trip should take you around 5 hours and 48 minutes along highway I-5 heading north. The halfway point between these two Californian cities is Turk, California—but if you’re planning on stopping midway for a bite to eat and a stroll about town, you may want to stop in Fresno instead to take in its world-class farmers’ markets and other attractions.
You should expect to spend about 72.01 in
gas
for the one-way trip—or $144.02 in all.
When you’re about to embark on a road trip, you’ll want to drive with confidence knowing you’ve got a great
