How far is it driving to Denver from Las Vegas?

My friends and I are going on a road trip this summer, and I’m trying to figure out the logistics. We want to end up in Denver our last night, but I’ve got us booked at a hotel in Las Vegas the day before. How far is it driving to Denver from Las Vegas? Is it doable?

This certainly sounds like an exciting road trip for you and your friends—both
Nevada
and
Colorado
have ample sights and sounds to take in, too! That said, it’s about 750 miles to get to Denver from Las Vegas, which translates to around 12 hours in the car without traffic.
While
Denver
and
Las Vegas
are both excellent stopping points, driving from one to the other could be a little too far for one day.
If you have room in your schedule to break up the drive with an extra stop, you may want to consider staying in
Moab
for a night or two to see
Utah
’s Arches and Canyonlands National Parks. This could break up that final stretch as such:
  • Las Vegas to Moab—457 miles, around seven hours
  • Moab to Denver—354 miles, around five and a half hours
Otherwise, you can always start early and take turns powering through those 12 hours to get to Denver in time for some nightlife. If you’re renting a car together, just be sure that you’ve added additional drivers to your rental reservation.
Since you’ll be spending so much time in the car, you’ll want to make sure you’ve got
