How far can an electric car go?

Recently, I’ve been looking into purchasing an EV in order to save on fuel, as well as to cut back on my environmental impact. One of my main concerns is that an electric car won’t be able to last very long on a single battery charge. Just wondering if it makes sense to buy an EV, or if I should wait until they have a longer battery range?

That’s a great question—and it’s one that depends heavily on what model electric car (
EV
) you’re looking to get. Currently, most vehicles average about 250 miles on a single battery charge.
Some of the current EVs with the best battery range include the: * Tesla Model S (373 miles) * Tesla Model X (371 miles) * Ford Mustang Mach-E (305 miles) * Chevy Bolt EV (259 miles)
As EV technology continues to improve, so will their battery range. Some great ways to improve your EV’s battery range might involve cutting back on the amount of heat or A/C that you run unnecessarily, as well as avoiding leaving your vehicle on your home charger for too long, which can wear it down more quickly.
If you’re planning on purchasing an EV as a commuter vehicle, then it’s likely to be a great option—you might make it up to a week or more on a single charge. But for cross-country road trips, or locales that don’t offer charging stations besides what you have at home, an EV might not be the best choice for you.
While purchasing an EV might be something you’ll need to decide for yourself,
