How does the hood of the Ford Explorer open?

I need to grease up the hinges on the hood of my Ford Explorer so they don't get all rusty. For some reason, I can't find where the hood release is. How can I pop the hood open?

To open the hood on the
Ford Explorer
, you need to pull both the interior and exterior hood releases. But, don’t worry, you can still open the hood in just four steps:
  • Pull the hood release lever. It is located inside the car, on the driver’s side instrument panel
  • Once you hear a pop, exit the car and slightly lift the hood up
  • Using your hand, feel between the body of the car and the hood for the hood latch. Once you find it, push it to the left
  • Push the hood straight up until it locks in place
That’s it! Now you are all set to grease the hinges. Doing
basic car maintenance
like this is a great way to keep your
Ford
in tip-top shape.
