How does Google's self-driving car work?

I’m fascinated by the advancement of autonomous vehicles. While I’ve read about Tesla and other automakers, I can’t find much information on Google’s autonomous vehicle. How does the Google self-driving car function?

While
Tesla
may be the front-runner of self-driving cars, Google is surprisingly at the top of the pyramid. Google’s self-driving car works through Lidar, which is a technology that sends lasers to a point and measures how long it takes to come back to the vehicle.
Google is tight-lipped on how long this tech will take to hit the market. But if you were interested, just look up Waymo. That’s the division of Google developing the self-driving car and they have press releases somewhat frequently. It’s not a flying car, but maybe that’s only a step away.
While you can’t buy Google’s self-driving car yet, you can opt for other types of autonomous vehicles, such as the
Tesla 3
or BMW iX. If you decide to buy a car with a self-driving feature, just make sure you back it with an affordable car insurance rate by using the
